Our slip rings are maintenance-free and can also be combined with rotary unions for pneumatics, hydraulics, water, vacuum, gas or other media. In addition to standards, we develop application-specific slip rings that mechanically and electrically meet customer requirements. We have a very wide range of products with countless possible solutions, for applications with flange, hollow shaft but also for open, modular rotary distributors as well as flat disc slip rings. Slip rings, also called rotary transmitters or rotary joints, are mainly used to transmit electrical power and signals (analog, BUS, video, Ethernet, etc.) from a stationary to an endless rotating component. They are used in applications such as packaging machines, filling lines, revolving doors, medical equipment, turntables, cable drums and all kinds of production machines.
Slip rings consist of two parts: An external one called stator (because it is normally stationary), composed of brushes made of noble material (gold or silver plated copper) and an internal one called rotor (because it normally rotates), also made of rings of noble material. The operation is reversible, that is, the outer part, which is usually fixed, can be made to rotate and thus the inner part (which normally rotates) can remain fixed.
