Slip devices provide constant torque that extends clutch component life by reducing inertia-induced shock loading. They can also be used as overload protection where component safety is a concern. The slip clutches have a long service life, as well as very good repeatability despite the small size.

Since the load is accelerated abruptly to the speed of the drive axle when the spring engages, special attention must be paid to the load inertia due to the shock load, especially at high speeds. For this reason, we also offer slipping clutches. In the SA and SB series, wrap spring technology is also used here, i.e. the direction of rotation must be defined for these two variants. The SC series uses clip technology, which is also used in REELL's friction hinges. Here, torque can be transmitted in both directions. Friction clutches serve both as shock limitation and as overload clutches or as safety devices, e.g. in (paper) jam situations, to protect the machine mechanics.
The unique design is offered in various sizes with different torque values and guarantees consistent performance over the entire service life. The
slip clutches can be used in conjunction with the wrap spring clutches as well as stand-alone products.
