Slip rings and rotary transformer

TDS Precision Products GmbH offers you reliable rotary transformers.

Our Swiss company has been equipping customers from a wide range of industrial sectors with reliable rotary transformers since 2000. Our knowledge also includes the conceptual design of special versions, which we will be happy to do for you on request. Contact us without obligation and we will be pleased to prepare an offer. It goes without saying that we treat all customer data with strict confidentiality.

Rotary transducers: one of our four core competencies

TDS Precision Products GmbH specializes in a total of four areas of expertise, including rotary transformers. This core competence includes rotary unions and contactless transformers on the one hand and slip rings in their great variety on the other. The second specialist area of our company is drive technology. This includes key areas such as electromagnets, actuators and CAN interfaces as well as DC motors and analysis software. The third core competence: sensor technology. In this area we dedicate ourselves to rotary encoders and potentiometers, offer angle and displacement sensors or manufacture joysticks, torque sensors and force sensors for you. The fourth area of specialization comprises positioning technology. We offer a wide range of friction hinges, couplings and electronic housings.

Rotary Unions as Reliable Rotary Transmitters

Every rotary joint is based on the idea of transferring fluids from a moving component to a stationary body. Both gases and liquids can be used as fluids. In mechanical engineering, rotary unions have proven to be very reliable rotary transmitters. Depending on the requirements, either one-way or multi-way rotary unions are used. At TDS Precision Products GmbH, you will always find products of both sub-forms in the category of rotary joints. They differ partly strongly and work for example in the model "JC" frictionless up to 50 bar and with 3'500 revolutions per minute or in the smaller model "JCE" with 500 revolutions per minute and maximum six bar. A combination of rotary union and slip ring is also possible, as shown by the "HVH" rotary union. Thanks to large media channels, it allows a high flow volume and can operate at a pressure of up to 345 bar.

Slip rings, the most famous rotary transformer

In electromechanics, slip rings form an important group of rotary encoders. They are used in combination with brushes and establish a sliding contact. Thus, both current and signals can be transmitted between rotating and fixed components. We offer a wide range of encapsulated slip rings, for example from the "ES Series" with up to 56 rings. This allows you to transmit analog and digital signals equally and choose between three different sizes. At TDS Precision Products GmbH, we also carry modularly designed, open slip rings and offer you the choice of various series. Furthermore, we can respond to individual applications with special designs.

Use contactless rotary transformer

The so-called contactless rotary transmitters are also called optical waveguides and are therefore often found under the abbreviation LWL. They rely on very thin fibers made of plastic, which are used to transmit optical signals. In contrast to electrical signals, which transmit electrons, optical fibers transmit photons. Our company offers you contactless rotary transmitters for single- or multimode and always in combination with electrical slip rings. You can choose how many channels you want to use. In the model "MFO100" you have one channel at your disposal, while in the rotary transformer " MFO800" there are already eight channels. You will always find data sheets for all products to familiarize yourself with the detailed characteristics.

Of course, the TDS Precision Products GmbH team will be happy to assist you with any questions you may have.
