Hybrid Kit Encoders
New encoder Technology
MEGATRON's NYS35 kit absolute encoder offers encoder technology that was previously reserved for high-end applications. As a multiturn kit absolute (16 bit) or single-turn encoder (20 bit), angles > 360° are detected with maximum accuracy even in a de-energised state.
The design of the NYS35K incremental encoder concentrates on the essentials - high-quality sensor elements, including electronics and electronics carrier - and does without a housing and a shaft bearing. With a diameter of 35 mm and a depth of only 20.4 mm, the encoder's design is very compact, allowing it to be installed in even the smallest installation spaces. The NYS35K encoder is ideal for use in robotics, skylight actuators, gates, agitators and filling systems as well as motor feedback.
The NYS35K is available as a single-turn (20-bit resolution) as well as a true power-on multi-turn kit encoder with a 16-bit resolution and an absolute value precision of 1,048,576 steps per shaft revolution and angles up to 65536 shaft revolutions - an absolute angle measurement of more than 23 million degrees.
Basically, the encoder measures angular changes by means of an optical encoding wheel, resulting in outstanding measured value acquisition and signal processing. The multiturn version has an energy wire that excites the PCB above it via a magnet built into the encoding wheel. Even in the case of a voltage-free state, sufficient energy is available to store the number of revolutions in an EEROM when the shaft on the application side is actuated. Without batteries or gears, this True Power On function works according to Wiegand's patented energy harvesting technology.
Optionally available with a calibration unit for encoder use in scaled, fully automated production lines. Possible assembly intolerances are electronically eliminated by the calibration (Phase Calibration Kit). A cylindrical hollow body for magnetic shielding or IP protection may be necessary depending on the application, as the NYS35K encoder is built without a housing.
