Rotary solenoids as a subgroup of electromagnets
Rotary solenoids belong to the electromagnets, because they develop their attractive force on the basis of magnetic principles. Often one reads as a synonymous term also the name rotation magnet, because all rotation magnets are characterized by a rotating working movement. The integrated shaft describes a fixed angle of rotation, either clockwise or counterclockwise. Depending on the size of the rotary solenoids, the angle can reach up to 95 degrees. The starting torque (torque) also varies. It can be very small and amount to about 0.5 Newton meters or it can reach up to 13 Newton meters. Actuating processes can thus be precisely defined and repeated with high accuracy. This is essential for automation processes.

Thanks to short switching times, the rotary solenoids can be used quickly and are convincing during operation. Thanks to permanent magnets, the "Bistable" rotary solenoid has two stable end positions in which the bistable rotary solenoid generates a holding torque without requiring power. End stops are optional. The torque is up to 0.5 Newton meters.
