The force sensor as a component
A force sensor is often also referred to as a force transducer, because this term also describes its function: it measures the force acting on a sensor and outputs the measurement result. Depending on the sensor, both compressive forces and tensile forces can be measured. A simple example from practice would be a force sensor within an electric scale. The pressure created by the objects placed on the scale is registered by the sensor and output accordingly. Of course, sensor technology covers a much wider range of applications.For example, force sensors are used everywhere in mechanical engineering, in test equipment and are indispensable in medical technology. Depending on the application, the measuring ranges can be small forces of a few newtons or even up to 20 kilonewtons.

It has a compact design and consists of a robust aluminum measuring body. It can be used to measure tensile and compressive forces and has a very low error rate. If you want to apply a force via an M6 external thread, the "KM500" force sensor could be of interest. For M8 female thread the model "KM1401 / KT1401" is available. Most standard designs are based on aluminum constructions. If you are looking for a force sensor made of steel, we alternatively recommend the product "KM801 / KT801", or offer you the possibility to order special designs from us.

If you do not find the right force sensor within the standard types, it does not mean at all that you cannot finish your project. Force sensor with measuring amplifier
Another subcategory that you can find in our offer is the combination of force sensor and measuring amplifier. The model "IMA2 DMS" is designed for easy mounting on DIN-EN mounting rails. You can connect the force sensor directly to the strain gauge full bridge and thus access the most common output signals. As an alternative to the force sensor together with the measuring amplifier, you have the possibility to buy different load cells from us. The models "KMB38" and "KMB32" convince with measuring bodies made of stainless steel and the direct connection to a strain gauge full bridge.
