New DSM28 stepper motor with threaded spindle
With a lead of just 0.5 mm, the new DSM28 stepper motor linear actuator is ideal for applications such as syringe pumps or optical devices that require precise control with high accuracy over short distances.
The DSM28, which will be presented for the first time at Medica in Düsseldorf (13 - 16 November 2023, stand 11E10), has a movement of 2.5 micrometres in full step in its standard version, but can also be adapted to other parameters through customisation.
By using suitable microstepping methods, it is possible to improve the resolution appropriately.
The hybrid stepper motor with a 28x28mm flange uses precision ball bearings to support the rotor directly with the linear spindle for extremely smooth running. With an appropriate stepper motor controller, the positioning can be checked by an encoder or the actuator can even be operated in true servo mode.
